Love is Life (free printables)

I’m all about free/cheap home decor. Most of the furniture (and clothing) we own we obtained for free through relatives/friends, on Craigslist, at yard sales, or from Goodwill. It’s actually kind of dangerous for me to go to second-hand stores ’cause I love treasure-hunting there (a little too much!). So anyway… this past week I found a nice 5×7 frame at Goodwill. And today I decided I wanted to make some art for it.

So I grabbed this photo I took a couple of years ago (at Tres Rios Wetlands)…

And I printed it onto some teal cardstock.

Then I printed this quote onto some vellum I bought maybe eight years ago that’s been sitting unused in my box of scrapbook paper (seems a lifetime ago I actually did things like scrapbooking)…

And I cut them to 5×7 size and laid the vellum over the tree picture, and voila…

I love how it turned out. Please feel free to download the pic and quote from this blogpost, or if you’d prefer I can email you the files (askbusca at gmail dot com), and make your own pretty little tribute to life and love and trees and Gandhi and yay. :-)

On a related note, I found some letter stickers when I was unpacking last month, and added the words “Love is Life” to the side of one of my pregnancy photos on display in my birthy bedroom

That was another Goodwill frame. Seriously… never pay full price for picture frames, friends!

If you make something inspired by this post, please take pics and send me an email!

And if you love second-hand treasures as much as I do, then you’ll love my friend Laura’s blog: “My Dear Trash.” Their site description:

My Dear Trash features Kelly and Laura, two dear friends who love to shop yard sales and thrift stores. Together, we feature the treasures we find and what we do with them. Follow our adventures and find value where others may not see it. What’s your trash worth?
